Just got out of final hospital stay and hope to be back up to snuff and get re-involved by the new year. I know there's something on the site asking about ideas. I wasn't insured when I got sick, and it turns out that I'd probably have been worse off financially if I had been. Maybe a boycott on health insurance by those who have it available to them and can afford it would be an effective way to change the system. Insurance companies wield power because we're terrified and thus buy their products. But what if we sucked it up and stopped buying coverage? It wouldn't take changing anyone's opinion- the consequences of an uninsured nation might force change.
